// Senior Software Engineer, McLaren Racing

Bradley Wadsworth

Building real-time data platforms and the strategy systems that drive race weekends.

// about

I'm a software engineer at McLaren Racing. I work on the platforms that move real-time data between the car, the garage, and the factory, and on the simulator-control systems used by Vehicle Dynamics and Driver-in-Loop.

Before McLaren I spent six years at CGI, building full-stack systems for UK public-safety programmes. Long-lived software where reliability mattered more than novelty. Motorsport is a different shape of pressure: shorter cycles, faster iteration, work measured against the race calendar.

Outside work I'm usually with family, or playing something. League of Legends most often, though I'm not sure it counts as unwinding.

Senior Software Engineer

  • Led end-to-end development of multi-language client libraries for McLaren's racing data platform, scaling real-time access across engineering functions.
  • Worked with Strategy, Data Science, and Racing Engineering to shape and prioritise feature roadmaps, keeping technical work aligned to racing objectives.
Jul 2023 — Nov 2025

Software Engineer

  • Delivered systems spanning React frontends, Python middleware, and C# services, with Kafka carrying real-time data between them.
  • Built simulator-control software with hardware API integration, supporting Vehicle Dynamics and Driver-in-Loop operations.
  • Built build-pipeline infrastructure on Tekton, cutting build times by over 50% and accelerating delivery across teams.
